Belkin Router Login and Setup – Configuration Settings Guide !!

There is a particular method that requires you to go through the command line process to find out the default gateway of your router and to use that for logging into all routers. But if you have a Belkin router and you know it, you do not really have to endure the geeky procedure. Just follow a few simple steps and you will be good to go. Before we dive any further, let us get to know better about the company that manufactured your router.

Belkin is a consumer electronics company established in 1983. The products they manufacture range from C type cables, docks, and hubs to routers and modems. They are known for their simple designs and high-end products. The Belkin routers especially are built such that they are pretty easy to access and configure. In this article, you will learn how you can do a Belkin router login to configure and set it up for the first time.

Belkin Router Configuration Guide:

No, do not worry. You do not have to know computer programming or anything, to do the setup after logging in. But there are certain assumptions we are going to make for which you have to understand some things about your router. A router when first bought is pre-set at factory settings or default settings, which is different from when some one has set the router up for you already because the latter might mean that to get access to your router’s settings, you will need a password. Either way, you can always access the router’s gateway, but the procedures will be slightly different in both cases. So, let’s get started!

How would I know if mine is at Default settings or not?

While logging into the router page, if submitting the username and password is allowed while leaving your password prompt blank, it means that your router is on factory settings. If it does not allow you to do so, it would clearly mean that there is a password reset.

To understand if your router is at the factory/default settings, you need access to the login page. In order to do so, follow the steps:

  1. Go to the browser of your choice
  2. In the URL entry bar, type and press enter
  3. You will be soon redirected to your router’s login page
  4. On the page type “admin” into the username prompt and leave the password prompt empty.
  5. Click Submit. If you are redirected to another page, continue to step 6, or go down below and read through the section “Belkin router login for non-factory-set routers”.
  6. Now that you are logged in, you can change whatever you like on this page and customize your router for best connection and internet provision.

If upon following the first four steps in the above section, you are not logged in automatically, you can follow these steps:

  1. If you know the password that has been set initially, probably by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) technician, enter the password and click submit. You should be logged in immediately.
  2. If you do not have the password, follow steps 3 through 10.
  3. Switch on your router.
  4. Grab yourself a pin or a ball point pen or just the refill, basically anything with a nice sharp pin point.
  5. Turn your Belkin router around and you should see a reset button. This button can be of different sizes, and at different locations, for different models of the routers.
  6. If you want to know where your router’s reset button is, you can go to Belkin’s official website and look for your product. In their product descriptions, they have pictures of their products with all the hubs, ports, pins, marked and labeled.
  7. Use your pin or pen’s nib point to press the reset button and hold it there for a few seconds, ten or more.
  8. Wait for over two minutes.
  9. Restart your router, and it has reset itself to default settings.
  10. Follow steps 1 to 6 from the above section and you will log in this time!

It is not advisable to reset your router over and over again. Therefore, we recommend you to set your own password on the logged in a page of the Belkin router by clicking on System Settings on the left-hand side menu, and remember it. Write it down somewhere safe, perhaps? It is also beneficial to do so because getting access to your router is a matter of one URL if you don’t have a password, as you must have learned already, and to stay safe from hackers it is essential that you set your own password and keep it safe and confidential.
